Roundtable «Rule of Law as the Defining Factor of Economics» took place at the Institute of Contemporary Development (INSOR) of January 31, 2012. The gathered lawyers, academic jurists and economists discussed the new legal reality occurred in Russia, when the law could not exist anymore being separated from the economics. As Mrs. E. Novikova said opening the discussion, “we now exist in new political reality, which suppose new legal reality definitely and clearly. The existing justice system is not effective. It is not capable neither to perceive anything modern, not to produce new possibilities of development”.
Repressive criminal policy in economic sphere brings the serious social harm today. But the necessity of criminal policy’s humanization evokes rejection of the major part of juridical community: lawyers assert traditional for Russia views on business as a criminal activity.
